Duties and Responsibilities

A Senior Office Engineer is typically a mid-to-senior level role in industries like construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects. The position focuses on coordinating technical, administrative, and documentation activities to support project execution from the office side.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Coordination

  • Support project managers in planning and executing projects
  • Coordinate between site engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients
  • Track project progress and ensure timelines are met

2. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare, review, and manage technical documents (drawings, BOQs, specifications)
  • Maintain records of contracts, change orders, and correspondences
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports

3. Technical Support

  • Review engineering designs and drawings for accuracy and compliance
  • Assist in resolving technical issues raised from site teams
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications and standards

4. Contract Administration

  • Monitor contract requirements and ensure compliance
  • Handle variations, claims, and contractual communications
  • Assist in tendering and procurement processes

5. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure work aligns with quality standards and regulations
  • Coordinate inspections and approvals
  • Support implementation of QA/QC procedures

6. Cost Control

  • Track project budgets and expenditures
  • Assist in cost estimation and forecasting
  • Monitor variations and financial impacts

7. Communication

  • Act as a liaison between office and site teams
  • Communicate updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders
  • Participate in meetings and prepare minutes
